Šibiba

Name Šibiba was founded by location in the Holy groves Šibiba Kirin, a village near Vodnjan. Location Šibiba named after grape varieties Muscat Cibib (Zibibbo, Muscat of Alexandria), who grew grapes in the vineyard in the area. The location is ideal for growing olives and the microclimate of the area 'Vodnjan maslinarskog circle' which is traditionally grown olive oil which is considered the best in the world.

The first olive trees were planted in 2004. as a kind of experiment site. For the first harvest, with 42 kg of fruit, showed exceptional results, a variety of blend ratios (New South Wales minnow, Buza, Leccino and Pendolino), their different characteristics and time of ripening varieties and teroara, oil Šibiba give specific recognition.

Good results harvests 2007 and 2008 are the main impetus to the decision of the owner (OPG Biserka Bankovic-Akelić) to extend the plantation. Oil Šibiba Classic 2008 received a gold medal at the festival of wine and olive oil in a castle.

After a year of planning and preparation, the fall of 2009 was even planted 950 olive trees. In the spring of 2010 plans to expand to a total of 1300 plantation trees.

In early 2009, submitted a request for production of organic extra virgin olive oil. Made the initial steps and 14.03.2009. completed the first professional supervision on all parcels. OPG receives a decision on registration in the Register of the organic production of agricultural products and foodstuffs RC rightly production, processing and trade of organic products. During the three-year monitoring certifiers AgriBioCert , will accompany each part of oil production, from cultivation, harvesting, processing and filling.

In October 2009, Šibiba extra virgin olive oil given the right to use codes of the European Vegetarian Union , E-tag (H-label) in the category of Vegan and so became the first olive oil labeled V-label in Croatia. V-mark guarantees all vegetarians and vegans absence of any animal ingredients tion origin Šibiba oil. This label is currently used in Europe 88 manufacturers / distributors to over 1000 items. In Croatia, the label used by 5 manufacturers / distributors.
